It was love at first sight when I saw these tan & teal oxies! I was in New York walking around Union Square with my prima (Olive) trying to kill time as we waited around for V to meet up for lunch. We walked into Steve Madden and I just "had to" have these.I love the Oxford look and love the way women shoes have made them their own! Why not mix and match them with a skirt? How cute were those little black and white Oxford's we wore as kids... I actually had a pair of black and white wing-tipped Oxford's from Steve Madden a couple of years ago. (People said I looked like a tap dancer :/ )
I love to test out looks ( some may look a little crazy at times-- but I'm definitely a risk taker) but then my mind wonders & I start thinking about what else I can mix and match tops & bottoms with. I found this top at 7 for all man kind while shopping in San Diego. It has been my go to top since last summer. Its thin, comfortable and I feel like I can match it with just about anything. The skirt of course is my favorite part of this look. (see my previous post about being obsessed with teal) It was a scorching 84 degrees today so I took this sunny opportunity to whip out my summer attire a little early.
The accessories come from an assortment of places. I love these bangles!!! I purchased 3 ( teal, white and coral) at this event called Shecky's Girls Night Out. ( www.sheckys.com/events) This great event that travels to major cities and brings along small and new designers. My two finger ring was made in Soho one day by a street vendor!
I have been working on perfecting my messy top bun. I was inspired to bun it today as I was watching QUE VIVA last night at the parental's. It's a new spanish show on abc with Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony. JLo of course makes this messy bun look easy and simple. So, I washed out my mane and attempted the tight bun - I think it might be easier to do with thicker hair like my own.
