Guest Post: Spring & Summer Trends

Heres a special post from Sarah @ Waywardgirl

The Fashion Greats have spoken and the trends for this coming spring and summer have been set in motion. Now that Spring is officially underway it's time to take a look back on the fads that stormed NY Fashion Week and see what those of us not buying couture frocks straight off the runway can do to make our beautiful spring days stylish and fun.

One of my favorite things to happen this spring is the lace comeback. Everyone from Kate Middleton to Kristen Stewart has been rocking frilly frocks all up and down the red carpet as of late.

For those of you who don't want to risk looking like one of the doilies from your grandmother's vintage furniture store (like poor clemence here), there are more subtle ways to incorporate this fad into your wardrobe.

Afternoon Farmer's Market & Boho Lace
Take this cute, light, and simple green top that's perfect for a warm day romping around town. Pair it with a set of platform wedges, a fun vest, and a scarf to pull back your hair and you'll be set for any casual spring occasion.

For classy occasions where blue jean cutoffs just won't cut it, there's nothing fancier than a couple of pleats. For extra trendy points, find a pastel skirt, a pastel blouse, and pastel pumps, and color block the heck out that ensemb.

Sunday Brunch & Pretty Pleats
Color blocking hasn't gone away, it's just matured a little. And what's easier than pulling three random colors from your closet and wearing them all at once?

Nothing, ladies.

Nothing.
