The Spring season is well underway and there is no better time to look amazing in the trendiest styles and hottest color trends of bright blues, punchy fuchsias, tangerines, mango yellows and icy margaritas. Fashion trends that stand out this Spring offer fresh collections of flattering drop-waist dresses, high waist flare pants, cute fitted cardigans, classic Bohemian accessories, contrasting colored heel platforms and sophisticating pleats that mimic clothing styles from ancient Greece and Rome. The definite Spring must-haves are tulip style skirts which work well for all sizes. Crochets have also made a big comeback as have mullet hem skirts that typically have one hem shorter on one side than the other. Day dresses with bright crayon color hues are being displayed in the shops as the comfortable way to start a bright Spring day. These day dresses come in pin-tucked, shirt-waist or A-line shapes and are accessorised with nude sandals or flat shoes. The modern shirt dress is a classic, with its specifically designed casual collars that touts both professional and relaxed looks. They come in contrasting colors with nipped waists and female flounces.
The exposed midriff is also back this Spring, but this time the belly button is under wraps with more of the upper abs on show. Contrasting to these are the high-waist wide pants from the '70s and '80s which are being paired with slim belts in the pant loops and high heels or platforms. Sheer filmy dresses in floral print or polka dot fabric are also on the agenda for fashion in 2012. Flapper style designs of sleeveless shirts with fringes or beading from the 1920s also seem to have made somewhat of a come-back. Bohemian or ‘Boho’ accessories allow for a mix and match of jewellery to suit varying personal styles. These free flowing jewellery accessories are being utilised to add fun and life to the colourful fashion trends in 2012, of which there is a lot to look forward to and consider this season.
